Welcome Back

Allots happened in a week and it feels good to capture it once again. Taking a break from this blog was just what I needed. Instead of "feeling the need to post something every day" It will start being more what it was set out to be. Just glances of the way I see things in the northwest. Sometimes it may seem every day & in others there maybe be a gap or two in between posts.

Whats been going down:
Well last Thursday my friend Erica came into town for a few days and it was a very enjoyable trip. She got to know The Roz™ a little better, meet the new addition to the Krebsbach Fam, show her some hot spots in Bellingham. Overall very good. A good friend and a good experience. Went to the Nightlight a few nights, just re opened and it was pretty fun, 80's night was amazing, music was untouchable and some of the best Ive ever herd. Made some purchases and received some packages.

Mark It Dude:
1. New kicks:
a. Sperry Top Siders
b. Zurricks (haven't came in yet but I'm hyped, finally a pair of shoes that Ive been waiting for some time, and Ive found em)
2. I start knitting classes with Roz and Grandma Kamp this thurs night (grams is teaching). I will be learning to make my own beanies for next year as well as some other dope things. Stoked
3. BlueBerry Day at Mt. Baker-snow was fast and fun
4. Spring conditions are something of the past. Its been dumping again at baker.
a. 28 Degrees
b. SNOWING
c. 24 Inches of NEW
5. Music I recommend: Styrofoam, havent been able to take it off the playlist.

new news:

Today has been a overall good day. Caught up with a good friend on a 25:36 min phone call. Thank You every time minutes. Also my friend Erica will be joining us next Thurs for a short but sweet trip. Should be a good time, little snowboarding, tea, movies, etc. Roz & I are looking forward to having our friend come and stay for a bit.

Also I forgot that my sweet mother has a surgery tomorrow. :(
--
I know, horrible son. I have to work but Roz will be picking her up and she will be all cozy and comfy at our place for a few days. (Parents house is under construction=New hardwood floors)
---
So my mom isn't dieing, well we are all dieing in the sense but her surgery is non life threatening, which obviously I'm stoked about. Family is by far the most important thing. We will be taking care of my Momma after she has her nasal surgery.
Recovery is pretty quick but she has to sleep sitting up for a week (SUCK!)

Oh had a few drinks at Pad Thai tonight, Nate the bartender always hooks up the free bee's now and then. Tonight was one of those, it paired nicely with the sushi ensemble I had going as well.

Snow Flurries

Good to be inside when snow flurries are blowing. Super weird weather today. Snowed about 80% of the day, cold enough to and still didn't stick. Sun comes out for a few and then back to snow... Weird I tell ya.

Report: Baker snowing lightly and 20 degrees.

Wish I was on the hill today

Shredded

Not only is my neck killing me but Mondays always seem to tire me out at work, so much to do and catch up and get a jump start on the week. I think this is all related that we only work 4 days a week. 16 days a month & 208 days a year - 8 holidays paid - 12 Vacation days is 188 of 365 which is almost half of the year. Now that i think about it, ant that bad. Ill stop my complaining. I def need to by a pass next year so I can get some more days in. I'm rocking 12 er 13 right now i think, which isnt bad but it isn't great. I remember back in the day when I was skipping school and gettin 30 er 40+ a season. That was chill back en da dayz.

Nothin to exciting besides gettin bak to work. Studyin for meetings, R's gotta a talk and I gotta be on point.

24th LBS Finals

---
It was hard to get up and get going this morning but once the cold air hit my face and I had my coffee I was good to go.
Stopped off at the usual local spots to pick up a quick lunch for the mtn. It was such a beautiful ride up, the sky was glowing, It was absolutely beautiful.

The conditions were fast and fun. My level of riding was on point today, im still getting used to the new deck, some minor tweaks on the binding degress but nothin major..Sittin GOOFY:17/17 @ 24-1/4" wide.. I'm really happy with my board choice, maybe a little stiffer if anything. I Talked to my friends at Lib, see what we can do next year... There was a few clinics going on down at the lodge: Lib, Burton, Arbor, Gnu, pretty much everyone from Mervin Manufacturing and more, to many to name. Saw the new lines, talked to old friends, met new ones. All smiles all day. Roz was riding really really well today. Its so great to see her progress/adapt to a new style of riding, better all around.

Kicked back, had a few brews around one of the many fire pits and soaked it up.
I spaced and thought the salmon bake was today but it was actually yesterday so next year a I guess.
---
After we stopped off at the shop and then to North fork for a few more pints and some wood fire pizza. I swear the food there tastes so much better after you have earned your food from a long day riding. We road till last chair and I cant tell you how long its been since Ive done that. Getting back to the basics and refining what's fun in snowboarding to me is challenging but exciting at the same time. I will be finally picking up my transceiver this weekend for hiking the arm and getting some shoots, fresh pow and nice lines (4 day weekend) See photos for a Idea of "The Arm"

The Grove

Skipped out on service this morning to only get busted...well not entirely but me and my brother were downtown at the Bagelry and someone yells out the window of some random car, "why are you not out in service!" I turn around to only start laughing. Its my friend Shannon and her brother (ASL Group), they also skipped out on service this morning and were doing the same thing we were. Enjoying the crisp morning downtown with a freshly baked bagel and coffee, not that we couldn't of done that out in service needed the time. Roz had to work this morning so me and my brother hung out, caught up, talked about life all that ish you do. Good Morning.

I watched a few episodes of "how I met your mother." Which if you haven't seen it, its worth checking out, a new age Seinfeld meets office/friends. Cleaned the house and got all the goods ready for the LBS tom. Been kinda under the weather with working so much so didn't hit it too hard today.

Later we ended up going to the Coconut Grove for some pool, nice little Saturday

BUTCHER ORANGE

Just In!!!
--
The New color is so sweet, nice satin finish. Hyped to be rockin these little guys again. Kinda sucks when you run out I forget things and get lost. If Field Notes had a stock option Id hop on that so quick even if the stock market blows right now. Real Product for True People.

Working OT today, got some semi plans for tonight, nothing to big. Pretty much just prepping for the LBS on Sunday. Gonna be Legendary!

Floating Ideas

--
So hyped right now! I don't think anything can get me down right now. Rolled into work stoked cause of the news from yesterday, went and needed something from another department (payroll) they informed me with my new promotion that I made "Staff" which means you automatically get 3 weeks paid vacation each year and can accumulate more the longer you are working. Which is amazing news because of this: my previous position and 90& of the people I work with top off at two weeks, even if your there for 20 years. I'm one of the I think 30 people that are staff, by far the youngest that's for damn sure. Makes me feel good!

In other news I've been thinking of some shoe ideas. My steeze in cali isn't really manifesting it self here back in the northwest. Its just not practical. Ive been searching for new companies that are still putting out good product but its getting kinda hard. My hope in posting this is to have some comments or recommendations of companies Ive missed.

Main thing I'm looking at is shoes. All the REI mountain shoes suck and look horrible. I love the light feel of vans & converse but I'm just not into the thick soal. I like a more mellow shoe now a days. If I could only join Sanuk/Toms shoes (amazing, buddy reps for em and got me into em, just more for chilling though) Back to the issue...Join those W/Patagonia/Clae and that would be a dope shoe. Now not hippy either, maybe more beach, granola ish but I'm just not into bulk. I ran into a kid who had some steeze shoes but pced before I could ask what they were, so I know there out there!

Ive had tons of ideas lately for things but I'm out of Field Notes, got some limited ones coming very soon!

Payin Off, Literally

Today is not only HUMP DAY but I also got some news in the financial department. This was news that I needed to raise me up. The day started out a lot like Monday & Tuesday. I came out of a meeting and my boss said this isn't working out and handed me a piece of paper... Negative thinking right... Nervous I looked at the paper not knowing what to expect cause he has been well really happy with me so far, and no news is good news....Until now. BOO YA! Signed on the dotted line and well lets just say my wallet is 30% fatter.
--
I guess my hard work is paying off, and it makes me happy that its being noticed.

I feel so fortunate to have a job and a reliable job at that when so many other people don't. For that I'm very thankful. Another + is the people I work with, we all complement each other 88% of the time. I guess we should cause I spend almost more time here then I do at home.
---
P.S.- I was listening to the Deftones, "Cherry Waves" when I got the good news, hence the photo

Case Of The Tuesday's

If there was a saying for Tuesday today would be the day to use it. Instead I found this picture that made me laugh and forget it was Tuesday and well now its here for your enjoyment. There is two other people that I work with and there should seriously be at least, at least 5 more people working with us. Its been hell at work the last few days.

Just the fact that I'm none stop busting my ass for 11 hours of the day and it never seems like the pile gets any smaller, but bigger..

This job is teaching me so much not just with project controls and engineering but with dealing with tons of different people around 100-200 on a daily basis. Different personality's, ways of doing things in high stress situations. Its a job, but at the same time, maybe for the first time I really get satisfaction out of it.

When I was working at my last job in Ca it was way chill but I was limited. This job I can use my creativity and skillz (I've developed a few) and its really working out. There are people I respect and well others that don't fall under that category.

Enough of that...

XLIII

::Photo ripped from Aaron Draplin::

Woke up early this morning to make a different meeting so we could all watch the super bowl. You know how we do. Afterwards we made a few stops, had a little pre party and then headed over to my grandparents to watch the game.

The super bowl has always been something that me and my brother bet on, a friendly wager to make the game more interesting. Now even though Roz was hoping AZ would come out with the W I knew that Pittsburgh was gonna take it. It was a close game, closer then I thought. I ended up winning the bet between me and my brother. Not to much just enough to fill up the gas tank.

Got prepped for the week, did a little research online for some up coming purchases.
Really hoping Baker gets some snow, it seems that the winter is taking a break here, not really stoked on it at all.

Friends from Beta Unit informed me they will be in the upcoming Nylon Mag. Keep on the look out for that.
