BCD vs. UFC

Woke up early and bundled up for some early morning bcd aka butt crack of dawn service.. Just like ol' times. I txtd some of the regulars and it made me smile that some things never change (they were out BCD as well) After a cold day in service I went over to my rents house to help my dad prep for some new hard wood floors. We pulled up the carpet and I pulled up all the other ish, it was nice to help him out. The new hard wood floors remind me of a boutique that has rustic vintage floors that have been through hell and back, if that makes sense. Its gonna make their place look a lot better.

Other than that just chillin, not much going on. UFC fight tonight so I brought my TV across the street and we had some friends over and watched UFC at my Bros place. It was a good time. Again nothin really worth bloggin about but just updated.

I am planning a trip to the Patagonia & Barney's in downtown Seattle. There will be some serious coin dropped on this trip. No new jackets yet, waiting for the new line to come out. Got a friend who is gonna hook up some sweet vibes. Can't wait!

One 4 The Parents

After a long day of overtime I headed to the store to pick up some last minute items for the dinner tonight. It was my parents 29Th anniversary and my mom told me that all she wanted was a card and dinner, so that's what we did + a gift cause that would be just lame if we didn't get something.

Tonight was a total success. I cooked two different types of wild sock eye salmon which both recipes Ive never tried.

The first was a marinated Jamaican jerk w/ lemon salt. & the second was a brown sugar/cayenne pepper glaze. They turned out amazing! Better then Ruth Chris or any other fine restaurant I have ever been to. Yes even better than Dorcia... Everyone was happy to be with family and just relax. Roz cooked an amazing key lime crème brulée which was to die for. My parents were so happy that they didn't want the night to end.

It made me smile and feel proud to make my parents forget life's problems and enjoy a night to remember.

24 Years Deep

Today my age changed from 23-24. I'm not really sure how I feel about it. Its to early for a mid life crisis but at the same time I'm getting older which sucks. I would be a toy R us kid for life if I could. For some reason its kinda got me spun out. Almost 25 which is half way to 30...I sure don't feel like 24, nor act it, some of the time (all the time) but it is wha it tis. Enough about it, cant think about it cause then I start to reflect and dissect things. Over it...

In other news: my much younger wife THE ROZ™ 22 years of age came back into town today which was amazing! Glad to have her back. We are planning a dinner for my parents tom night, for there anniversary. Big brother, Ash & Cashen are coming over as well and we gonna grub family style. I'm stoked on the menu and cooking new thing.
I love cooking! Random, just had to put it out there

IDIOT PILOT plays tomorrow night too, hoping my parents are down for the show or might just have to try and catch the last part. There local, amazing live and good people.

Mt. Baker's 24th Legendary Banked Slalom

The list is posted, riders from all over will come and compete for the bragging rights as one of the best riders at Mt. Baker. I was surprised to see allot of big names in it this year, it seemed that this competition was fading out but I feel with recent films and the way snowboarding is going back big mtn riding people are bring Mt. Baker with them. If you cannot make it to the Valdez, Baker is compared to have similar back country riding, with steep shoots and glaciers to shred.

Some of the Big Names that are competing:

Travis Rice
Scotty Wittlake
Eric Jackson
Mark Landvik
Kevin Sansalone
Wille Yli-Luoma
Lucas DeBari 07/08 PRO WINNER!

Its gonna be a great time, Feb 6,7,8
If you can make it, come up for a few pints, bon fire, and some Northwest Salmon. Always got a place to stay..

Roz comes home tonight, I'M STOKED! Missed her the last few days like crazy. Just gonna be chilling out. Baker is getting snow again so it looks like we will be hitting the mtn up this weekend together.

Friendly Sundays

Woke up this morning and the wind was so high that it blew my door open, house was cold as ice. Had some friends stay the night, some across the street. All met up and had some breakfast.

Went to a huge used book store, didn't find anything to exciting.

Chilled out and napped. I've been trying to stay busy cause its pretty damn lonely when Roz is out of town. Shes my main squeeze and I cant wait for her to get back into town this wends. It seems like shes been gone forever...

The Longest Day

Prequel-Previous night (Friday) didn't get to bed till 1am technically Saturday morning. (had to find a CD player on batteries so i could go fishing)

The Longest Day:
Woke Up 4:30am to meet my dad, Uncle Ron & his son/my cousin Andy at my mom & dads house to pack Andy's boat and head out down south for some fishing, Already I'm super tired as it is, but I get some coffee in me and we head out.
Drive for about a hour and a half not getting much sleep on the way down.
Get to the boat launch off Camano Island at 7:30
Fish ALL Day (9 Hours)
Starting to get dark my cousin Andy says, one more pass and then that's it.
10 Minutes later (FISH ON!)
Backing up---There is tones of boats out (approx. 35-40) and no body is getting anything, no nets in the water on opening day for black mouth salmon which is kinda unheard of at the area we were fishing.
So back to FISH ON, freaking out, one other boat is only in the water now and heads back our way. I go for the net as my dad goes for the reel. Ron is reeling in one rod and Andy the other making sure we don't get any lines crossed. The net is under the bow and ends up being stuck, Andy is freaking out GET THE NET! Panicking, NET STILL STUCK. Andy screaming! I back out, hand him a knife. He cuts the caught pieces and I go for the Camera.
We get it in the boat, now mind you on opening and even after they grow black mouth are typically 7-10lbs. Ours...
14LBS BOO YAA.
All excited we get in the cubby and put the lines out for 30 more min. Nothing more but what a way to end the fishing trip.
We head for the boat launch and as were tucking everything away for the drive home, people are coming out to see what we caught...Man it feels good when you catch a fish. Felt Like "Fishers of Men."
Hour and Half drive home and again not much sleep. Re telling what happened 50 times. Get home, 6:30ish Clean the fish, I seasoned it and my dad put it on the grill.
I head home, shower and head across to my brothers where were leaving for a show downtown. It was Awesome! Few Beers, Great Locals and Overall a good time.
Now in Bellingham cops have been cutting down hard on driving late at night, so to be safe and responsible we get a cab, were like no biggie lets stop off at Denny's for some chow, kinda like ol times. Eat, fills the stomach, get back in the cab head home finally get some sleep.---So we though.
Another cab is gonna be a hour and half...
We man up and walk home 2-1/2 Miles in 30 degree temp, was snowing earlier. I have a shaved head, glasses on, Beta unit crew on and my nudies. I'm FREEZING!
Finally get home and now this is 2-3am on Sunday...Truly was the longest day and It was a Good Day.

Steepen In The Vibes

What to say. Well, I chipped half of my tooth off a day ago and went to the dentist this morning and it will be a good thing I think when its all over. As of now, not so much. No drugs to numb the pain and grindin on the tooth to temp fill it for Tuesday nights appointment. Yea, good thing is it doesn't hurt to bad.

Ditched a Work Banquette last night for some sushi with the brother and wife.
Oh forgot to mention Roz is out of town till wends, she is back at AZ with the twin and the parentals. I could only imagine what it would be like to be a twin...

Things that come to mind when you think of twins:

Pairs
More then one..obviously
Boobs
Siamese Twins
Twin Towers (RIP)
Twin Peaks
Twin Turbo
Cloning

Anyways, dinner was a good experience. Working today, but now I got the office to my self so I got the music on high and I'm just in the zone. Gonna catch some drinks and pool tonight like the ol' times and tomorrow I'm gonna go see a metal band which should be pretty fun. Just to go to a show, its been awhile. Some friends from Seattle are coming up so it should be happy times, steepin on the vibes.

Playing:
3 inches of blood (yes they wear viking helmets and have swords)
Asema (Singer is trashy HOT) Guaranteed your gonna Google her after this.

THE EXPRESS

Today I thought it was gonna be another normal Wednesday. Work, Meeting, same ol same ol. Well I've been battling a headache for a few days so I decided to hang low, try and recover. I went and returned some video tapes and picked a few off the shelf. Just got some things that I could ignore and fall asleep to. Probably one of my top five things to do too. Fall asleep to a movie.

Ill back up a bit, I've always loved sports movies, underdog movies, true life movies of people overcoming and coming out on top. This has always been the case since I was very young, not sure why. I love all sports so much, never got to play in school. I'll copp out and blame my dad still because I enjoy it so much. One memory is that I got first in a track meet when I was younger. Growing up I was teased because I was faster then all the other kids but didn't play sports. Was more athletic and never played sports...This is maybe why I get emotional when I see true life sports movies, they inspire me, they make me feel as if I was 15 again. Well this one tops them all for me...

The Express-A true life story of Ernie Davis who was the first African American to win the heisman trophy (A Big Deal). Not only did this movie touch on racism but just how far "we" have come. Now if you know me I'm not much of a political person which means not at all but; I guess what impressed me the most is that there was a struggle and even after overcoming all this, Ernie Davis still died from Leukemia at the age of 23(I'm 23). I cant really explain it, pretty sure this blog will fly over some peoples heads (if you read this far) and just pass it off as a emotional day but...I feel and believe that its more than that. When you have a movie change your opinion and impress on you something more, change your perspective & even change the way you live your life...well isn't that why movies were made.

I questioned weather or not to post this blog, yes it is a little deeper, and kinda makes me vulnerable. Whatever, I am who I am and dammit I had tears in my eyes after a good friend recommended me to watch Bridge to Terabithia. I love movies and when they affect me like this one, well here it is...It was a good movie. I give it two thumbs up!

The 80's

I'm not sure what brought this on...Maybe its that saying, "The past is only the future with the lights turned on." You never really know how far you have come until you look at the past. For me, even though I was 5 when the 80's ended I remember it like it was yesterday. I guess you could include the early early 90's to. I still remember when my parents came home with the Nintendo. Remember? Duck Hunt, The gold plated Zelda and the silver plated Zinc. Well I still have mine and I think its just got more character then these new games that are coming out, granted there not as tech or anything like that, but back then it didn't matter. Back then things were so much more simple. I guess this rambling is just leading up to the picture I found so I'm making a blog for it cause I think its so SICK!

I need to find one for my collection and NO I'm not a GAMER. I don't even have the time, barley have time to update this damn blog, which sometimes I wonder why I still do... Again super shredded, my brain I swear is going to explode if I have to look at another package of PRINTS.

Im thinking I'm feeling this way because its been 2 weeks since i've gone snowboarding and well really its JANUARY. It needs to snow, its freaking cold here still. At least be super sunny or something if its not gonna snow, Nope. fog. Dont think i've seen the sky in two days to be honest

TEAM XTERRA

Well nothing to exciting on this end...Work has been hell and I'm not really seeing any light at the end of the tunnel any time soon. Will be working Friday as well as possible Saturday. Super shredded tonight. I came home & marinated some steak for a bout a hour or so and cooked it up. Made a little more than I could eat, but there is always tomorrow.

My brother came into the house and was all amped. He bought Ash a new(er) Xterra, which is bigger and way way nicer. Looks damn near brand new. Got a sweet deal on it and they were stoked. Now hes got a 99 Black Xterra and a 06 Silver Big Ballin Xterra. TEAM XTERRA! Stoked for him. Wish I could sell my truck so I could get my Subi Wagon that I want...

My buddies didn't make it in the qualifiers, a few seconds off from making it, Always next year...

No New SNOW... I need to ride my snowboard....

Samish Island

I love the weekends, there is something about combination of not working and good weather on the weekends that just puts a smile on my face and makes me so happy. I slept in trying to get rid of a migraine that has been a few days running so I didn't get a chance to go out in service. When I woke up it was like the morning on Ferris Buller's Day Off. Blue sky's and no clouds to be seen. After a fresh cup of coffee to wake me up I headed to the Kingdom Hall to get all the literature in line; which is kind of a chore when we have 5 different languages. Organization is key on this...

After a few hours I ran over to my grandparents for some laughs and helped them hook up there DVD player. Also picked up a pair of knitted booty's/slippers from my grandma, there pretty sweet.

As soon as I got home we started packing a a small cooler with steaks, seasonings and other misc items for Samish Island. We rolled up to the house and I was kinda surprised, I felt like I was on cribs. I was joking with Roz cause there was a smaller house across the street and I was like oh must be the guest house...Seriously it was, freaking huge guest house.

On the Dinner Menu:

Brochette
Fresh Oysters
Fresh Prawns
Jamaican Steaks- This new marinade I've been using. So good!
Sea Salt Baked Potatoes from the Fire
Wine

This house was something I imagined in the Hampton's, a beach house for the weekends. Which it is for some of our friends. The art in the house was from all local artists and was decorated very cool. My camera died after a bit so that's why there isn't much of a photo shoot.

Slavin For The Man

Its been one of the craziest work weeks of my life. I was supposed to go to one of my buddies shows last night, a new metal band Farewell Austerity Jordan Vess the singer (my Buddie) has a scream comparable to Chino Moreno from the Deftones and is amazing on the guitar. Bummed I missed there first show but I was in my bed at 730 last night. Back at it again this morning even though it seems like I never left work as I couldn't shut off my brain and dreamed about work all night...Good times...

Plans for the weekend: Nothing

Also this bike has been in my dreams, If this was mine...soon..hopefully ill get one/make one like this with the help of my good friend Marty who builds custom bikes on the side. I'd strip the paint off the frame, fendors, chrome off the pipes all of it...Set it outside and let the great northwest do the rest. A few days later it would be all rusted, clear coat that and it would be good to go.

One Year Deep

Well I made it...One year and running. I must say this year has been great. A lot of things learned about my self and relationships and also just growing up. Still looking foreword to progression as always but defiantly a good year.

After we checked out of the Spa & Inn we picked up the Sabratooth and went back to the Da Chuuuch. Unpacked, cleaned up, put some end tables together that some friends of ours bought us. Thank you much Beau & Brii. Went shopping and filled the fridge up with grub, studied for meeting tough, and kicked back. I've been reading this book, "Cats Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut. It was recommended by Phillip SF as he is in my address book. So good, I think like this guy, my mind works like him. Excellent book. I get all the jokes and extra little notions in the side notes that if you didn't watch the type of movies I watch and think the way 'WE" think you might not get. Never really had that happen before where I thought like the author. Pretty good feeling actually. I'm sure when this one is done I will go onto another KV book.

Chillin, Life is Good, snow falling and Baker is getting more snow...130" Base and Counting

The Chrysalis

The Day Involved the following: In Order

1. Eucalyptus Steam
2. Rhassoul Ritual
An exotic Middle Eastern ritual: You are painted from head to toe with a rare Moroccan mud containing softening, purifying and deep-cleaning properties. Relax on our heated traditional Turkish bench as the mud is baked on. A cascading waterfall rinses the mud and an aromatherapy steam and rain forest rinse complete this ancient ceremony. -It was very animalistic but pretty sweet, I felt like a cave man from Encinoman.
3. Deep Tissue Massage-90 Min
4. Steam/Shower
5. Nap
6. Dinner at Fino which is comparable to Dorcia but a little more contemporary.
7. Walk on the boardwalk in the rain
8. Babies don't sleep that good

The Perfect Day

Oh I also got Roz a few necklaces from Erica Wiener, she was hyped.

BETA FRIENDS

This morning I was talking with my friends over at Beta Unit and its confirmed. From time to time Beta Unit will be doing some posting for up coming events, photo shoots, art shows, new product releases, etc. on Seafoam Friends. I'm excited for this little collaboration and excited to see things progress. I started this blog as just a diary/something to keep my friends from down south updated/involved in what was going on in my life in the great northwest when life is so busy. I'm looking forward to seeing some ideas come into a reality. Look out for next seasons Beta Unit line up, I've seen a few pieces and must say...they keep getting better and better as they progress into this changing world of fashion.

In other news I bought the 7 series Braun Electric shaver and I must say I cant believe I didn't buy one sooner. Never again will I use the messy shaving cream and razor. Never, its A to the Mazing. Did some window shopping but didn't buy anything yet. Gave Roz one part of her gift will sum it all up Monday with pics and all. Tomorrow we will be gone all day staying at The Chrysalis Spa & Resort. STOKED! Got some things set up and since we are apart of the "Loyalty Club" we get some sweet hook ups.

Sabra-tooth is in good hands.

The Beach

--
After watching the old movie "the beach" last night it made me realize how much I love travelling and how much more I want to go somewhere tropical. Granted its winter here and Im gonna soak up as much snow as I can but it still doesnt take away from how beautiful this island is and how much I really want to go there. Its still uninhabited and its a small island called Phi Phi Le; which is off shore from Phuket, Thailand. A inclosed lagoon with white sandy beaches makes it even more amazing.

Made it home safe last night, kinda crazy that water was on both sides of the freeway just about to crest over and make the freeway disapear. I got called into work today for a lunch meeting which is pretty sweet cause its time and a half, make that chedda for the weekend cause im definatly spending some.

Also something im looking into buying this weekend is a electric shaver. I have to shave every day for work and its becoming a pain to get new blades, shaving cream and all that crap. With the research ive done THIS electric razor should last me a long time.

More Flooding

This is sketchy, just updated...I-5 is closed, might not be able to get home from work....sweet, might have more of a impact on my weekend then I thought. I hope I can get home. Who needs a ARK, anyone?

Weekend Away

--
I found this photo to be worth thousand words, I really like it and for me it puts a calmness, sense of relaxation over me. Not sure why either..
--
With the day almost over all I can think about is kicking back and chilling out for the next 4 days spending time with Roz and Sabra-tooth. We both have the weekend + Monday off to relax, reflect and celebrate our 1 year Anniversary which officially is on Monday, January 12, 2009. I had a lot in store but due to the weather some of it is being put on hold...(sucks ass). I'm coming up with other ideas but we will see what will happen.

Baker is getting snow but the roads are closed due to mud slides and flooding so kinda sucks for that idea, was hoping to go get some mountain time on Saturday, see what happens I guess.

Vices This Week:

1. Fiji Water
2. BBQ
3. Video Tapes..as always
4. Vegtables...i've been really trying to get all the food groups represented each day, harder than it seems.
5. Limited Organic Coffee Beans...a little bit better than the Folgers in your cup

The Flood

Its been non stop raining for 6 days, its supposed to subside tomorrow for a few hours and then start back up again...Many people are watching there houses float away. This photo is from down town Bellingham, Wa...

Allot of roads have been shut down due to water over roadways, never in my 23 years has it flooded like this in town, its crazy. I got my rubber boots and my fishing pole so I guess I'm prepared. Our place in on higher ground so were doing good...for now.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Garlic French Bread

Paired with a fine wine from my cousin Aaron. I cant wait to get off work and start grilling again.

Lovin it

New meeting time is 4-6 which is awesome because when the snow is just right I can ride in the morning till 1 or so and then head back for meeting.
I woke up pretty early to clean up the house. I got some essentials for the new BBQ we got from a group of family members which is sweet. Its gonna be nice grilling again. Studied for meeting and cleaned out both vehicles for the week. Nothing to exciting, just getting things ready for going back to work.

I must say it has been nice not working and still getting paid these last 13 days.
Back to the grind and slavin for the man.

After meeting went and played basketball which was a workout because its been awhile since Ive ran allot like that, forgot how good basketball is for exercise. This will now be apart of the Sunday night ritual. Allot of Bro's get together and play Sunday nights for a hour or so, good work out and change of pace.
